Moroccan filmmaker and photographer Daoud Aoulad-Syad is showcasing his solo exhibition 'Le temps d’un battement de cil' (The Time of an Eyelash Beat) at the Galerie Delacroix of the Institut Français du Maroc in Rabat. The exhibition runs from June 17 to August 31, 2026, as part of the first edition of Photo Tang, a photography festival.
Aoulad-Syad, known for his analog photography, explores what he calls 'human landscapes'—intimate portraits and scenes that capture the essence of everyday life in Morocco. The exhibition features a series of black-and-white photographs taken over several years, focusing on the subtle interactions between people and their environments.
The Institut Français du Maroc describes the exhibition as a meditation on time and perception, with the title referencing the fleeting nature of a moment. The works are presented in a minimalist layout to emphasize the raw emotion and texture of the analog prints.
Photo Tang, the festival hosting this exhibition, aims to promote photography in Morocco and the Maghreb region. The first edition includes workshops, talks, and exhibitions across multiple venues in Rabat and Tangier.
