The Attorney General's Office of Ghana has identified about 30 cases under the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) initiative for prosecution, with between five and 10 already at advanced stages before the courts, Deputy Attorney General and Minister for Justice Srem Sai announced.
Speaking to the media, Deputy AG Srem Sai stated, 'There will be some interesting cases coming soon,' indicating that the legal team is preparing to move forward with the cases. The ORAL initiative, launched by President John Dramani Mahama, aims to recover state funds and assets allegedly misappropriated under the previous administration.
The Deputy AG did not provide specific names or details of the cases but confirmed that the office is working diligently to ensure due process. The announcement comes amid ongoing public interest in the government's anti-corruption efforts.
