The Garden Walk shopping centre, a 20,000 square meter retail development, has officially opened in the Hartenbos North area of Mossel Bay on South Africa's Garden Route. Located near the N2 highway, the mall is part of the broader Hartenbos North development, which includes residential and tourism-focused infrastructure.
Developed by Garden Walk Property Holdings, the centre welcomed its first shoppers in late March 2026. It features a Checkers supermarket as a major anchor tenant alongside approximately 40 other stores, creating an estimated 500 permanent jobs.
The opening aligns with ongoing growth in the Mossel Bay region, which has attracted investment in residential and commercial property. Local officials have cited the development as a response to population growth and increasing tourism activity along the Garden Route.
