According to the French Ministry of the Armed Forces, France's arms exports surpassed €21 billion in 2025 for the second consecutive year, driven by strong sales of fighter jets and missiles. The figure was confirmed in the annual report to Parliament, published in June 2026.
The main contracts included additional Rafale fighter jets sold to the United Arab Emirates and India, as well as long-range cruise missiles for several European allies. The export total remained slightly below the record €27 billion achieved in 2024, but still well above the average of the past decade.
Defense analysts note that the sustained demand reflects global rearmament efforts, particularly in Europe and the Middle East. France's share of global arms exports now stands at around 11%, making it the world's third-largest exporter after the United States and Russia.
However, the report also highlighted challenges, including delivery delays due to supply chain issues and increased competition from South Korea and Germany. The ministry emphasized the importance of maintaining industrial capacity to meet future orders.
