Fouad Ali El Himma is a significant political figure in Morocco, known for his long-standing closeness to King Mohammed VI. He served as a key advisor to the King for many years, holding the position of Delegate-Minister of the Interior from 1999 to 2009. During this period, he was a central figure in the administration and security apparatus.
In 2008, El Himma co-founded the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), which became a major political force in the country. He served as its president until 2021, when he stepped down from the role. The party has positioned itself as a modernist and centrist political movement.
While no longer the party president, El Himma remains an influential behind-the-scenes figure in Moroccan politics. His career is closely tied to the reign of King Mohammed VI, and he is widely regarded as one of the architects of the contemporary Moroccan political landscape.
