Veterans from the departmental branch of the National Federation of Veterans of the Operations in North Africa (FNACA) in Tarn-et-Garonne recently visited the Jean Boucheron college in Beaumont-de-Lomagne. The visit was part of an educational initiative to share firsthand accounts of the Algerian War with students.

The FNACA, founded in 1958, is the main French association for veterans of the Algerian War and the conflicts in Morocco and Tunisia. The session aimed to provide a historical perspective on the conflict, which lasted from 1954 to 1962, and to discuss the experiences of conscripted soldiers.

Such educational meetings are a regular part of the FNACA's mission to preserve the memory of this period for younger generations. The association organizes commemorative events and works to support former soldiers.
