MANILA, Philippines β€” A Pulse Asia survey commissioned by the Stratbase Institute has found that a majority of Filipinos support the Philippine government forging alliances with like-minded nations to defend the West Philippine Sea. The survey, conducted from June 3 to 7, 2026, polled 1,200 respondents nationwide.

According to the results, 73% of Filipinos expressed support for such alliances, while 15% were undecided and 12% opposed. The survey also indicated that 68% of respondents believe the government should prioritize diplomatic and legal means in addressing territorial disputes in the region.
