Jed Daniel Gordon, 45, the former merchandise manager for Australian metalcore band Parkway Drive, has avoided a jail sentence after pleading guilty to having sexual intercourse with a minor. The sentencing took place at Byron Bay Local Court on May 28, 2026.
Gordon, who is the brother of Parkway Drive drummer Ben Gordon, was charged in connection with an incident involving a 16-year-old girl. The court heard that the relationship began when the victim was 16, and Gordon was in his early 40s. He pleaded guilty to one count of sexual intercourse with a person aged 16 or 17 under his special care.
Magistrate Karen Stafford sentenced Gordon to a 12-month community corrections order, requiring him to perform 100 hours of community service. He was also placed on the sex offenders register for five years. The magistrate noted that while the offense was serious, Gordon had no prior criminal record and had shown remorse.
The victim's mother expressed disappointment with the sentence, stating it did not reflect the severity of the crime. Parkway Drive has not publicly commented on the matter. Gordon's lawyer argued that his client had already suffered significant personal and professional consequences.
