Former Canadian Member of Parliament Inky Mark has been arrested following a police raid that uncovered a large cache of weapons at his home near Dauphin, Manitoba. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) seized 439 firearms, including an antique cannon, along with ammunition and thousands of dollars in cash.
Mark, who served as a Conservative MP for the riding of Dauphin—Swan River—Marquette from 1997 to 2008, was taken into custody on July 13, 2026. The RCMP executed a search warrant at his property as part of an ongoing investigation into illegal firearms possession.
According to court documents, the seized weapons included a variety of rifles, shotguns, and handguns, as well as the antique cannon. The cash found on the premises is believed to be linked to potential firearms trafficking. Mark has not yet entered a plea, and his next court appearance is scheduled for later this month.
The case has drawn significant attention due to Mark's former political status and the sheer volume of weapons involved. The RCMP has stated that the investigation is continuing and that additional charges may be laid.
