Brazilian aerospace manufacturer Embraer has selected Indian engineering firm Bharat Forge as a key partner to accelerate its industrial footprint in India. The partnership, announced in early 2026, aims to strengthen Embraer's presence in the Indian defense and aerospace sectors.
Under the agreement, Bharat Forge will manufacture components for Embraer's aircraft, including the C-390 Millennium military transport jet. This aligns with India's 'Make in India' initiative, promoting local manufacturing and reducing import dependence.
Embraer has been actively expanding in India, competing for defense contracts and seeking collaborations with local firms. The partnership with Bharat Forge is expected to create jobs and enhance technology transfer, benefiting both companies and the Indian aerospace ecosystem.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. The collaboration is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to commence production within the next two years.
