In Chikkaballapur district, Karnataka, a 70-year-old woman was allegedly murdered for her gold earrings on June 18, 2026. The incident occurred in the village of Gollahalli, where the victim, identified as Lakshmamma, was found dead with injuries to her head.
According to police, the suspects, identified as Manjunath and Ravi, both residents of the same village, allegedly attacked Lakshmamma while she was alone at home. They reportedly stole her gold earrings worth approximately ₹30,000.
The police arrested the two suspects on June 19, 2026, and recovered the stolen earrings. The accused have been remanded to judicial custody. Investigations are ongoing to determine if they were involved in similar crimes.
