Police in Namibia have arrested two suspects in separate drug-related incidents in Outjo and Oshakati on Friday, following the seizure of cannabis worth tens of thousands of Namibian dollars during a roadblock search and a house search.
According to the police, the first arrest occurred in Outjo during a routine roadblock, where officers discovered a significant quantity of cannabis in a vehicle. The suspect, whose identity has not been released, was taken into custody and is expected to appear in court soon.
In a separate operation in Oshakati, police conducted a house search that led to the seizure of cannabis and the arrest of another suspect. The exact value of the drugs seized has not been disclosed, but police sources indicate it is in the tens of thousands of Namibian dollars.
The arrests are part of ongoing efforts by Namibian law enforcement to combat drug trafficking and abuse in the country. Police have urged the public to report any suspicious activities related to drugs.
