A motorist who was disqualified from driving after accumulating 12 penalty points for various offences was caught driving during his disqualification period, a recent sitting of Clonakilty District Court has heard.
Garda court presenter Sergeant Tom Hayes told the court that on a date in 2026, gardaí stopped the driver in West Cork. The driver told officers he was 'desperate to get to work'. Checks revealed he was disqualified from driving.
The driver, whose name was not released, was charged with driving while disqualified. The case was adjourned for sentencing.
