Delhi Police are questioning the family of Manoj Meena, the accused in the rape and murder of a 26-year-old woman in the Kailash Hills area, according to investigators who spoke on condition of anonymity. The family members are being asked about Meena's alleged phone addiction and gambling habits, which reportedly put him under debt of around ₹7 lakh, his decision to travel to Delhi, and his movements after he fled the crime scene.
The victim, a software engineer, was found dead in her apartment on April 20, 2026. Police have said that Meena, a former colleague, allegedly entered her home and committed the crime. He was arrested from his hometown in Rajasthan on April 22, 2026.
Investigators are also probing Meena's financial records and call logs to establish a motive and timeline. The case has sparked protests in the neighborhood, with residents demanding better security measures.
