DAP Youth has stated that Pakatan Harapan (PH) played a significant role in reviving Umno after the 15th general election (GE15), where Umno won only 26 parliamentary seats. According to DAP Youth, PH helped counter the wave of support for Perikatan Nasional (PN) to prevent Umno's support from diminishing further.
The statement was made in the context of the six state elections held in 2023, where PH and Barisan Nasional (BN) collaborated as part of the unity government. DAP Youth argued that without PH's efforts, Umno's electoral performance could have been worse.
This claim comes amid ongoing political dynamics in Malaysia, where the unity government, led by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, includes both PH and BN components. The collaboration has been seen as a strategic move to stabilize the political landscape after the hung parliament in GE15.
