The Kingdom of Morocco has announced that Côte d'Ivoire will be the guest of honor country at the 18th edition of the International Agriculture Exhibition in Morocco (SIAM). The event is scheduled to take place from April 27 to May 3, 2026, in the city of Meknès.
The announcement was made by the Moroccan Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, following a meeting with Ivorian officials. The designation highlights the strong agricultural and diplomatic ties between the two nations.
As the guest of honor, Côte d'Ivoire will have a prominent platform to showcase its agricultural sector, particularly its key exports like cocoa, cashews, and rubber. The theme for SIAM 2026 is expected to focus on climate resilience and sustainable agriculture, aligning with shared regional challenges.
The SIAM exhibition is one of the largest agricultural events in Africa, typically attracting over 1,500 exhibitors and 900,000 visitors. The 2025 edition featured Spain as the guest of honor.
