According to the latest Suan Dusit University Poll conducted from May 3-7, 2026, independent candidate Chadchart Sittipunt leads the Bangkok gubernatorial race with 42.86% support among 5,000 respondents. The poll, which surveyed eligible voters across all 50 districts of Bangkok, shows Chadchart maintaining a significant lead over his closest rival, Anek Laothamatas of the United Thai Nation Party, who garnered 20.29%.
Other candidates include Suchatvee Suwansawat of the Democrat Party at 12.57%, and Wiroj Lakkhanaadisorn of the Move Forward Party at 10.86%. The remaining candidates received less than 5% each. The poll has a margin of error of ±1.4% at a 95% confidence level.
Chadchart, a former transport minister, is running as an independent candidate focusing on urban development, traffic congestion, and environmental issues. His campaign has emphasized transparency and grassroots engagement. The election is scheduled for May 22, 2026.
