Chakib Tazi and Mohamed Bachiri were elected as the new president and vice-president of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) on May 14, 2026, securing 91.2% of the votes cast during the organization's general assembly.
The election, held in Casablanca, saw the Tazi-Bachiri ticket win against a single opposing list. Out of 2,500 eligible voters, 2,100 participated, with 1,915 votes in favor of the winning pair, according to official results announced by the CGEM.
Tazi, a prominent industrialist, and Bachiri, a seasoned entrepreneur, will serve a three-year term. Their platform focuses on boosting private sector investment, improving Morocco's business climate, and strengthening the role of small and medium-sized enterprises.
