Mehdi Tazi and Mohamed Bachiri, the sole candidates for the presidency of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), have unveiled their program ahead of the elective general assembly scheduled for May 14, 2026. The pair aims to transition the organization from an advocacy-focused body to one centered on impact and tangible results.
The program is structured around five key axes: improving the business environment through administrative simplification, boosting investment and competitiveness, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), promoting sustainable development, and strengthening social dialogue. The candidates emphasize a pragmatic approach to address the challenges facing Moroccan businesses.
As the only ticket in the race, Tazi and Bachiri are expected to be elected during the AGM. Their platform reflects a commitment to measurable outcomes, with specific targets for reducing bureaucratic hurdles and enhancing the private sector's role in economic growth. The election marks a pivotal moment for CGEM as it seeks to adapt to evolving economic conditions.
