Cebu City has officially launched its 2026 Summer Sports Program, a free grassroots initiative aimed at engaging the city's youth during the school break. The program, which began in early April, offers training and activities across 26 different sports disciplines.
According to the Cebu City Sports Commission, the program is designed to promote physical fitness, discipline, and sportsmanship among children and teenagers. Activities are being held at various public facilities, including the Cebu City Sports Center, and are led by accredited coaches and trainers.
The wide range of sports includes basketball, volleyball, swimming, athletics, chess, badminton, and taekwondo, among others. The city government stated that the initiative is part of its ongoing commitment to youth development and discovering local athletic talent.
