A new satirical play by Sault Ste. Marie playwright Calvin Lane is set to debut at a local bar later this month. The Incident at Journey's End will have its premiere at Beck's Bar on April 25, 2026.
Written and directed by Lane, the play follows a popular bar owner's clash with a violent government agency intent on removing citizens from their homes. The production is described as a dark comedy that explores themes of authority and resistance.
Beck's Bar, located on Queen Street East, will host the performances. The venue has previously been used for live music and community events, marking a continuation of its support for local arts.
