The launch event, held in the Moroccan capital, marks the beginning of the 14th edition of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations. Morocco is hosting the tournament for the second consecutive time, having also organized the 2022 edition, which was won by South Africa.
During his visit, Motsepe is expected to meet with Moroccan football officials and CAF representatives to discuss the tournament's organization and legacy. The competition features 12 teams divided into three groups, with matches set to be played in Rabat, Casablanca, and Marrakech.
This edition of WAFCON is particularly significant as it serves as a qualifier for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup, with the top four teams earning direct spots. The tournament also aims to promote women's football across the continent.
