Patrice Motsepe, the president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), has arrived in Rabat, Morocco, ahead of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). The tournament is scheduled to take place in Morocco from July 5 to July 26, 2026.
Morocco is hosting the competition for the second consecutive time, having also staged the 2022 edition. The arrival of Motsepe signals the start of high-level preparations and official engagements related to the event.
The 2026 WAFCON features 12 teams, including defending champions South Africa, who won the title in 2022. The tournament serves as a qualifier for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup.
