France Under-21 international Ayyoub Bouaddi has stated he is not rushing a decision on which senior national team he will represent, despite interest from both France and Morocco. The 19-year-old midfielder, who plays for Lyon, made the comments in the lead-up to a France U21 match.
Bouaddi, born in France to Moroccan parents, is eligible for both nations. He emphasized his current focus is on his development with his club and the French youth setup, where he is a regular. "I don't want to rush things," Bouaddi was quoted as saying, indicating he will take his time before committing to a senior international career.
The French Football Federation (FFF) has been integrating Bouaddi through its youth ranks, while the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has also expressed interest in recruiting the talented playmaker. Such dual-eligibility cases are common in international football, with players often weighing sporting prospects and personal heritage.
As of March 2026, Bouaddi has not been capped at senior level by either country, leaving his international future open. His next immediate focus remains on club performances with Olympique Lyonnais.
