St. Bernard Parish officials have announced a parade to honor New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson, a native of the area. The event is scheduled for June 20, 2026, in Chalmette, Louisiana, according to local government announcements.
Robinson, who played high school basketball at Chalmette High School before his NBA career, has been recognized for his community involvement and athletic achievements. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the St. Bernard Parish Government Complex and proceed along Paris Road.
Parish President Guy McInnis stated that the parade is a way to celebrate Robinson's contributions both on and off the court. Robinson has participated in local youth basketball clinics and charity events in the region.
The Knicks center averaged 8.5 points and 8.3 rebounds per game during the 2025-26 NBA season, helping the team reach the playoffs. He has been with New York since being drafted in 2018.
