The royal commission investigating the December 14, 2024, terror attack at Bondi Beach has recommenced its hearings. The attack, which killed 15 people and injured dozens, was carried out by Naveed Akram, 24, who has been charged with 59 offences related to the ISIS-inspired incident.
The next block of hearings will examine security failures and emergency response times. The commission is expected to hear from survivors, police, and intelligence officials over the coming weeks.
Akram remains in custody. The inquiry aims to provide recommendations to prevent future attacks.
