Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove escaped unharmed on Friday when armed attackers targeted his convoy in Mastung district, according to senior police officials. The attack wounded six people, all of whom suffered bullet wounds, a senior police official said.
The incident occurred in the Mastung area, a region that has seen periodic violence. Security forces have launched a search operation to apprehend the attackers, officials said.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. The minister was traveling in a convoy when it came under fire, but he was not injured.
Local authorities have cordoned off the area and are investigating the incident. The wounded were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
