Author Amish Tripathi has officially denied recent rumors that actor Ranveer Singh acquired the film rights to his bestselling novel 'The Immortals of Meluha'. In a statement on social media, Tripathi wrote, 'I have huge respect for Ranveer Singh as an actor, but the news about him acquiring the rights to 'The Immortals of Meluha' is completely false.'
The rumors, which circulated on May 11, 2026, claimed that Singh had secured the rights after the success of his film 'Dhurandhar 2'. However, Tripathi clarified that no such deal has been made and that he has not authorized any film adaptation of the book at this time.
'The Immortals of Meluha' is the first book in Tripathi's Shiva Trilogy, a mythological fantasy series that has sold millions of copies worldwide. Fans have long speculated about a potential film adaptation, but Tripathi's statement puts an end to the latest round of speculation.
Tripathi added that he remains open to discussing film adaptations in the future but emphasized that any official announcement would come directly from him or his team. As of now, no film project based on the novel is in development.
