The Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) has announced its classification and region realignment for winter and spring sports, effective for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 school years. The realignment, based on enrollment data, determines the competitive classifications and region placements for member schools in sports like basketball, wrestling, baseball, softball, and soccer.

The AHSAA Central Board of Control approved the new alignments, which are published on the association's official website. Schools have been placed into one of seven classifications (1A-7A) for most sports. The alignments are designed to promote competitive balance by grouping schools of similar size together for regular-season and postseason play.

Member schools have a limited window to appeal their placement, with the deadline for winter and spring sports appeals set for April 7, 2026. The final alignments will be confirmed after this appeal process concludes. The fall sports realignment for the same cycle was announced earlier in the year.
