Ademola Adeleke, Governor of Osun State, and the National Leadership of the Accord Party have adopted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party's candidate for the 2027 general elections, according to a statement from Pelumi Olajengbesi, the Adeleke Re-election Campaign Spokesperson.
The endorsement was announced on July 27, 2026, in Abuja. Olajengbesi stated that the decision was based on Tinubu's performance and vision for Nigeria. The Accord Party's National Chairman, Dr. Muhammad Lawal Nalado, confirmed the party's support.
This move aligns with broader political realignments ahead of the 2027 elections. Adeleke, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is seeking re-election as governor of Osun State in 2026.
