RAMALLAH, West Bank — Israeli forces opened fire on a Palestinian family's car near the city of Tulkarm in the occupied West Bank on Sunday, killing four people, including two children, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. The ministry identified the deceased as a father, his two sons, and a young girl.
The Israeli military stated the vehicle was fired upon after it failed to stop at a checkpoint and was suspected of being involved in militant activity. It said the incident is under review. Palestinian officials and local media reported the family was returning from a visit to relatives.
The shooting occurred amid heightened tensions and ongoing Israeli military operations across the West Bank. The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the incident as an "execution."
Violence in the West Bank has surged in recent years. According to United Nations data, 2025 was one of the deadliest years for Palestinians in the territory in nearly two decades.
