A federal jury in Dallas has convicted eight individuals on terrorism charges for their roles in a 2023 shooting at an immigration facility in Texas. The verdict was delivered on Friday, March 14, 2026, following a trial where prosecutors linked the attack to anti-fascist, or antifa, ideology.
The charges stem from an incident on May 13, 2023, at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in the Dallas area. According to court documents and Department of Justice statements, the defendants were involved in a plot that included firing shots at the building, causing property damage but no serious injuries.
Federal prosecutors argued the group planned the attack to intimidate and retaliate against the federal government over its immigration policies. The defendants were convicted on charges including conspiracy to commit an offense against the United States and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.
Sentencing for the eight convicted individuals is scheduled for later in 2026. They each face potential decades in prison. The case was investigated by the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force.
