Salmata Ouedraogo has been appointed interim dean of the Dean's Office of Academic and Departmental Development at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC). The appointment was announced by the university's administration.
Ouedraogo, originally from Burkina Faso, is a professor in the Department of Human and Social Sciences at UQAC. Her research focuses on immigration, integration, and the sociology of work.
In her new interim role, she will be responsible for overseeing academic development and departmental support initiatives within the university. The appointment follows the departure of the previous dean.
UQAC, part of the Université du Québec network, is a public French-language university located in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region. The university has a history of international recruitment for its faculty and student body.
