South Africa's national rugby sevens team has successfully qualified for the 2026 Rugby Europe Sevens Championship. The qualification was secured during a tournament where the team, often referred to as the Blitzboks, won three of their five matches.

Team manager, Dean van der Westhuizen, commented on the team's performance, stating they were pleased with the overall outcomes from the weekend. He acknowledged areas for improvement, noting, "We had two poor halves basically. We started poorly against Spain in the first match..."

The qualification marks an important step for the South African side as they aim to compete in the European championship circuit next year. The team's focus will now shift to preparation for the higher-level competition in 2026.
