The Senegalese Football Federation has announced a provisional squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The list, confirmed on March 20, 2026, is the penultimate selection before the final team travels to North America for the tournament.

Notably absent is star forward and captain Sadio Mané. The federation stated the Al Nassr player is recovering from a knee ligament injury sustained in late 2025 and will not be fit in time for the competition, dealing a significant blow to the team's prospects.

The "Lions of Teranga" are drawn in Group A of the tournament, which is being hosted by Canada, the United States, and Mexico. Their first match is scheduled against France on June 12, 2026, in Los Angeles.

Coach Aliou Cissé has called up a mix of experienced players and newcomers to the preliminary camp. The final 23-player squad must be submitted to FIFA by May 15, 2026.
