The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has announced its intention to file an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne. This follows a decision by the Confederation of African Football's (CAF) appeal jury to award the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title to Morocco.

The appeal jury overturned the original result of the final, which was played on March 8, 2026, in Rabat. The match had ended in a 2-1 victory for Senegal, but Morocco lodged a formal protest concerning refereeing decisions during the game.

In a statement released on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, the FSF expressed "profound disagreement" with the appeal jury's ruling, which it described as "unjust." The federation stated it is preparing its case for CAS to seek a reversal of the decision and the reinstatement of Senegal as champions.

CAF has not yet released the detailed grounds for the appeal jury's verdict. The governing body confirmed the result change in an official communication, making Morocco the official winner of the 2025 tournament.
