The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The dispute centers on the process used to select the host nation for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

According to official statements, the FSF's legal action follows a formal notice sent to CAF, which the federation claims went unanswered. The core of the dispute is Senegal's belief that the bidding process for the 2025 tournament was not conducted transparently or according to established regulations.

In July 2023, CAF stripped Guinea of hosting rights for the 2025 edition due to infrastructure concerns. A subsequent bidding process saw Morocco awarded the tournament in September 2023, with a joint bid from Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya also submitted. Senegal, which had publicly expressed interest in hosting, did not submit a formal bid before the deadline.

The FSF's appeal to CAS seeks arbitration to review CAF's host selection procedure. The federation has not publicly detailed the specific legal grounds for its challenge but asserts that the process lacked fairness. CAF has yet to issue a public statement regarding the Senegalese federation's legal filing.
