The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has lodged an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against a disciplinary decision made by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The appeal was officially filed on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

The dispute stems from a CAF decision to impose a sanction on Senegal, reportedly related to incidents during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) quarter-final match against Ivory Coast. The specific nature of the sanction, which CAF has not publicly detailed in full, prompted the FSF's legal challenge.

In its appeal, the FSF argues that the CAF disciplinary process was flawed and that the sanction is disproportionate. The federation is seeking an annulment of the decision from the Lausanne-based sports court.

The CAS has confirmed receipt of the appeal and will now initiate an arbitration procedure. A final decision from the court is expected in the coming months, which will be binding for both parties.
