The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) is mobilizing financial resources after dozens of Senegalese supporters were detained in Morocco. The fans were traveling to support the national team for an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Democratic Republic of Congo in March 2026.

According to reports, Moroccan authorities detained the fans upon their arrival at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca. The primary reason cited was a lack of valid entry visas, as Senegal is not among the countries whose citizens are granted visa-free entry to Morocco.

The FSF confirmed the incident and stated it is working with relevant authorities to assist the detained supporters. Federation officials have been dispatched to provide consular support and facilitate their release and repatriation.

This incident highlights ongoing logistical and diplomatic challenges for African football fans traveling across the continent for international matches, where visa requirements can create significant barriers.
