Senegal's Minister of Sports, Massata Malick Sarr, has stated that the country possesses evidence of irregularities surrounding the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final. The match, held in February 2025, saw Senegal lose 2-1 to Algeria in a controversial encounter in Rabat, Morocco.

Minister Sarr made the claim during a press conference in Dakar on March 20, 2026. He asserted that Senegal has compiled a dossier of evidence, including video analysis and official match documents, which it plans to submit to the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The allegations reportedly center on refereeing decisions during the match.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has not yet issued an official public response to Senegal's latest claims. Following the final in 2025, CAF stated it had reviewed the match officials' reports and found no grounds to overturn the result.

This development marks a renewed effort by Senegalese authorities to contest the outcome of the tournament's final, over a year after the match took place. The situation remains a point of significant contention in African football.
