The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has formally appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland, following the Confederation of African Football's (CAF) decision to strip Senegal of its 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title. The appeal was lodged on March 17, 2026, contesting the disciplinary ruling that nullified the team's victory.

CAF's decision, announced on March 10, 2026, came after an investigation found the FSF guilty of fielding an ineligible player during the tournament's final match. The governing body stated the player in question did not meet the regulatory criteria for participation, constituting a breach of competition rules.

As a result of the sanction, the 2025 AFCON title has been declared vacant. The original runner-up, Morocco, has not been awarded the championship. The CAS appeal process is now underway, with a ruling expected in the coming months. The case represents a significant controversy in African football, casting a shadow over what was celebrated as Senegal's second continental triumph.
