Defender Redouane Halhal has received his first senior call-up to the Moroccan national team, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) announced. The 24-year-old center-back, who stands 1.87m tall, currently plays for Belgian club K.V. Kortrijk.

Halhal is part of the generation of Moroccan players that won the 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, a victory that secured the team's qualification for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. His consistent performances at the club level in Belgium have now been rewarded with a place in the senior squad.

The call-up comes as Morocco prepares for upcoming international fixtures. National team coach, whose identity should be confirmed via the latest FRMF announcement, is looking to bolster his defensive options ahead of crucial matches in the team's schedule.

Halhal's selection highlights the continued pipeline of talent from Morocco's successful youth setups to the senior side, known as the Atlas Lions. His progression follows the path of several teammates from the Olympic-qualifying U-23 squad.
