The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) destroyed approximately P4.56 billion (about $80 million) worth of illegal drugs on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. The incineration took place at the Integrated Waste Management, Inc. facility in Trece Martires City, Cavite.

The destroyed contraband included 560 kilograms of shabu (methamphetamine), 2,800 kilograms of marijuana, and 10,000 pieces of ecstasy tablets. These substances were evidence from cases that have been concluded in court, allowing for their final disposal.

PDEA Director General Moro Virgilio Lazo oversaw the destruction. He stated the event demonstrates the government's resolve to prevent confiscated drugs from re-entering the market and to eliminate a significant volume of harmful substances from society.

The public destruction is a standard procedure following court orders. The PDEA regularly conducts such operations to dispose of evidence from drug cases that have reached final judgment.
