The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that the upcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will be held in only two cities, Karachi and Lahore, with matches played behind closed doors. The decision was made due to heightened security concerns in the region.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi stated that the board could not take any risks with spectator safety. The move marks a significant shift for the popular Twenty20 tournament, which typically draws large crowds across multiple venues in Pakistan.

The decision reflects the ongoing regional tensions and the complex security environment. Authorities have not linked the measures directly to a single event but to a general assessment of the threat level.

This will be the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic that the PSL will be played entirely without live audiences. The tournament is scheduled to begin next week.
