The Guinean Football Federation (Feguifoot) has officially confirmed that Morocco remains the rightful winner of the 1976 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). In a statement, the federation denied any ongoing or planned appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) regarding the tournament's outcome.

The clarification follows years of historical debate and occasional claims questioning the legitimacy of the final standings. The 1976 tournament, held in Ethiopia, used a final group stage instead of a knockout final. Morocco topped the group with Guinea finishing as runners-up.

Feguifoot's statement explicitly aims to settle the historical record and dispel any rumors of a legal challenge. By confirming there is no case before CAS, the federation has effectively closed the door on any formal contestation of the 50-year-old result.

This official confirmation reinforces Morocco's status as a two-time AFCON champion, having also won the tournament in 1976. The move is seen as promoting historical accuracy and sportsmanship within African football.
