The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has broken its public silence to endorse the Confederation of African Football's (CAF) decision to keep the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco. The statement, released on March 18, 2026, follows a period of speculation after CAF President Patrice Motsepe confirmed the host nation earlier this month.

In its official communication, the FRMF stated it "takes note of the decision" by CAF's Executive Committee and expressed its "full support" for the continental body. The federation emphasized its commitment to working with CAF to ensure the successful organization of the tournament, which is scheduled for June and July 2025.

The 2025 edition was originally awarded to Guinea before being stripped of hosting rights due to infrastructure delays. Morocco, which hosted the 2022 FIFA World Cup, was subsequently named as the replacement host. The FRMF's statement aims to quell recent rumors and reaffirm the country's preparedness for the event.

This public backing from Morocco provides stability for the tournament's planning phase. CAF has not announced any changes to the host city lineup or match schedule following the federation's supportive declaration.
