The Moroccan film 'Porte Bagage' (Luggage Rack), directed by Abdelkarim El-Fassi, has won the Best Film award in the 'Close-Up: Morocco' section of the Bergamo Film Meeting. The award was announced on March 18, 2026, during the festival's closing ceremony in Italy.

The film, which had its world premiere in the 'Panorama of Moroccan Cinema' section at the 22nd Marrakech International Film Festival in late 2025, was selected from a competition of seven films. It was presented to an international jury at the Bergamo event.

The Bergamo Film Meeting, now in its 44th edition, is a significant European festival dedicated to independent and auteur cinema. The 'Close-Up' section each year focuses on the cinema of a specific nation or region.

Director Abdelkarim El-Fassi is a graduate of the Institut Supérieur des Métiers de l'Audiovisuel et du Cinéma (ISMAC) in Rabat. 'Porte Bagage' is his feature film debut, exploring themes of travel and personal baggage through its narrative.
