Morocco's citrus sector is projecting a recovery in production for the 2025-2026 campaign, following several seasons severely impacted by drought and water stress. The Ministry of Agriculture has indicated an expected increase in output compared to the previous season, which was constrained by adverse climatic conditions.

Official forecasts for the 2025-2026 season estimate citrus production to reach approximately 2.6 million tons. This represents a significant rebound from the reduced volumes of recent years, attributed largely to improved water management and favorable weather patterns in key growing regions like Gharb and Souss-Massa.

The recovery is crucial for export revenues, with the EU remaining the primary market for Moroccan citrus, particularly clementines and oranges. The sector's revival is supported by national agricultural strategies focusing on irrigation efficiency and varietal development to enhance resilience against climate variability.
