A 31-year-old man has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of his partner, Daena Walsh, a 27-year-old mother of two. Adam Corcoran was found guilty by a jury at the Central Criminal Court in Dublin after a trial.
The court heard that Corcoran killed Ms. Walsh in the apartment they shared at John Barry House in Dublin on a date in 2024. He had denied the charge of murder. During the trial, evidence was presented that Ms. Walsh was found with multiple stab wounds.
In a victim impact statement, Ms. Walsh's family described her as a "beautiful, kind, and loving mother" and said, "What was done to Daena was evil." The judge, Mr. Justice Paul McDermott, imposed the mandatory life sentence.
The case has been reported by Irish media outlets including the Irish Independent and RTÉ. The sentencing brings a conclusion to the legal proceedings surrounding the tragic death.
