Man charged in North York homicide after woman found dead

Toronto police have charged a 32-year-old man with second-degree murder after a woman was found dead in a North York home on March 11.

Toronto police have charged a man in connection with the death of a woman in North York earlier this month. Officers responded to a residence on Threadneedle Crescent, near Finch Avenue West and Sentinel Road, on March 11, 2026, at approximately 1:32 p.m.

Upon arrival, police located a woman without vital signs. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Toronto resident, Tania Cowell.

Following an investigation, police arrested and charged 32-year-old Toronto resident, Michael Osei, with second-degree murder. He appeared in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre on March 12.

The investigation is ongoing, and police have stated they believe this was an isolated incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Toronto Police Service Homicide Unit.
